If you are moving to your first home and have been living at your parents house or an apartment for most of your life then you are in for a big change. Wow, now all the responsibility is on you and that is not a bad thing. It is really cool to own your own property. That is an amazing process and should be super excited. There are lots of things to fix and it can be a great learning experience. I am also really excited to let you know that youtube is going to be your friend on fixing things! There are so many great tutorials that can help. Now for doing lots of projects there are some tapes that can help save your time and money by having them on hand. So I want to go over a few packaging supplies you should have on hand to help fix issues!
Teflon tape was a life saver. This was some advice my father gave me and he gave me a small roll of teflon tape and said for any water pipes you should put this on the threading to help lock out the water that can slip through. So this is something that I used when I put sinks in and changed over the piping. I had issues leaking with not only sinks but also on my washer too. Then I put the tape on the threads and it stopped leaking. It has held for a year now with my new home and I must say this saved me lots of trouble. No water damage has occured and I didn't have to spend tons of money by hiring a plumber. So a few dollars on teflon tape can save you hundreds or thousands in the long run!
The next packaging supplies item that has helped me has been painters tape. I have used this as a soft tape for tons of things. One, it is useful for painting but it is really good for other things as well. I have enjoyed using it to lebel lots of different things. It is easy to pull off so you can use a marker and make signage for different things that you don't want to lose. I have been able to also use it to hold drawers in place for the dresser when moving as well. It doesn't damage wood or drywall so it makes it so nice to hold things in place. So get some tape and save your home from trouble!
